There’s a reason The Bug Man Inc. recently celebrated its 38th anniversary in the pest control business: Our team of professionals is always striving to deliver the best in pest control products and services to your home or office.

One of our most successful products has been Thermal, Acoustical & Pest Control (TAP) Insulation, which is an innovative product that offers an environmentally responsible insulation with thermal and sound deadening properties. Aside from all the benefits that go beyond typical insulation products, The Bug Man has made TAP insulation available to its clients primarily due to its unique method of pest control.

How TAP Is Made

TAP Insulation is made mostly from recycled paper that otherwise would go into landfills. The paper is cut down and then refined further into a substance similar to cotton bolls. This substance is infused with borates, which results in an environmentally safe insulation that is superior both thermally and acoustically – and helps control pests. While deadly to insects, boric acid insulation poses a minimal risk to people and pets. A “loose-fill” insulation, it is installed by being blown into attics on top of existing insulation with specialized machines.

Why Get TAP?

This products keeps comfortable air in the main living areas of your home, reducing the required energy for heating and cooling – and your energy bills. Its insulated interior walls reduce unwelcome noises from both outside and inside your home. TAP also controls unwelcome household pests that like to nest in attics and walls, including roaches, ants, termites, and silverfish. Finally, TAP doesn’t just claim to be “green” – it truly is. Cellulose insulation takes less energy to make than other insulation, as it is made from 80 percent recycled paper.

TAP vs. Fiberglass

From an energy savings standpoint, TAP insulation outperforms traditional fiberglass insulation by 32 percent. Because it is a denser, loose-fill insulation, it fills in hard-to-reach spaces that other products tend to miss.
